My name is Oussama. I have lived in Montréal since 2018.
I studied mathematics and computer science, then turned to mathematics and computing applied to cognitive science. Put simply, how we think, how we learn, and what a machine can do with that.
In 2011 I did my first research internship in a lab, in natural language processing. Teaching a machine to read a sentence, pull out the facts, get at the meaning. Nobody talked about AI at parties back then. That's still where I started.
Then fifteen years building systems that run for real. Connected trains, healthcare apps for a hospital, mobile platforms for telecom operators, connected cities with millions of devices. Then banking platforms, when I arrived in Montréal.
Today I'm an architect at a large Canadian bank. And on the side I build Krizaka, here in Montréal, with AI agents that I direct, review and correct. It comes full circle, a little: I met the machine that reads a sentence back in the lab, and now I put it to work.
When I'm not coding, I listen to jazz, go to concerts, travel when I can, and keep a game controller within reach.
This blog is what I learn while building. Short posts, with the numbers I can show, and what I haven't solved yet.
